The attacks are continuous. I barely get through one when another strikes. In these moments, I want to run to safety and escape the line of fire. My comfort zone beckons to me. And I want to go back.
My flesh hates the discomfort. If given the choice, it would never choose discomfort of any kind. It wants me to numb the pain and ignore it.
It’s tempting, but going after our dreams is not for the faint of heart. Dream chasing requires faith, courage, and strength. So often, we have to go to the very edge of it all and then take a leap of faith.
It’s hard to jump when I feel so uncertain and fearful. In the fear and uncertainty is the place where so many dreams die. The final step doesn’t make sense. It seems a little unbelievable and beyond anything we’ve experienced before.
When I find myself in these situations, I like to remember previous challenges and how God helped me to overcome them. God uses them as stepping stones of faith.
I remember how I felt going into thumb surgery. To my mind, none of it made sense. The odds were against me. My chances of it not working were greater than the possibility that it would work. I had no concrete evidence or even an example of it working for someone else. All I had to go on was what I felt in my soul.
God’s spirit comforted me, encouraged me, and increased my faith. It helped me believe in unbelievable things, and that’s truly the key to it all.
If we follow God and allow His spirit to guide us, we can’t fail. God has a way of making it all possible. So when the attacks occur, we know that the blessing is close. Therefore, we need to keep our eyes on God.
When the attacks occur, run to God.
When the fear overwhelms you, run to God.
When it all seems impossible, run to God.
God has the answers and everything we need. We can’t do it alone, but it is possible with God.
