Radiating Love: Choosing Positivity Amidst Struggles

We all have an energy that we radiate to others. When we are in a bad mood, others feel it. Even if we don’t say anything, we still display our feelings through actions. 

I was grocery shopping one day when the clerk told me he hoped my day got better. His comment startled me and then enlightened me. I hadn’t said anything, but my thoughts and feelings spoke volumes. I was having a bad day and communicated it through my facial expressions and body language. 

Since then, I have been more mindful of how I present myself. I don’t want to be someone who praises God with my lips but portrays something else. 

I know that we all go through a lot. And I’m not saying we should pretend to be happy when we are not, but if we notice our feelings and mood, we can pray about it. We can ask God to help us with the inner turmoil we feel. 

If other people feel anything from me, I want it to be love and kindness. While there might be sadness in me, there is also love. And I get to decide what I want to focus on. 

I can allow the enemy to stir me up and make me think the worst of others. I can have conversations with him and allow negative emotions to overtake me. Or I can cry out to God for help. 

While God might not change our circumstances, He can change our thoughts about them. When we change our thoughts, our feelings will also change. God can help us take every thought captive to the obedience of God. He can break our strongholds. 

2 Corinthians 10:4-6 KJV

4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

We all have the power of choice. We don’t have to stay in a negative thought pattern. God can help us overcome every attack from the enemy and radiate His amazing love.
