From Lie to Truth: Reclaiming Your God-Given Worth

Make a liar out of the enemy.
Everything the enemy tells us is a complete lie, or it’s a little bit of the truth mixed with a lie. The problem is that we don’t always recognize his voice. Sometimes, he slides the thoughts so perfectly into our minds that we believe they are our thoughts. Then, we start thinking about the thought and invite the enemy to expand it.
If I had known this truth sooner, it could have saved me so much turmoil. I used to believe my thoughts without examining them. And the enemy caused chaos in my mind. He led me on thought trails completely different from God’s word.
The longer I thought about the lie, the more power I gave it. Some of the lies created strongholds on me, and I believed them.
Take the lie that I am not worthy, for example. Believing it made me act in a way that strengthened the lie. Feeling unworthy to write or do God’s work caused me to procrastinate and dread it. The longer I denied my calling from God to write and speak, the more unworthy I felt.
My soul desired to do God’s work, but my flesh rejected it. The inner batter caused turmoil inside of me. But whenever I tried to write, my thoughts of unworthiness overpowered me, strengthening the lie.
When we allow lies to grow and expand, we must find their root to overcome them. Many times, it takes God to show us the real problem.
God showed me that my worth comes from Him. Writing is my gift from Him, and He qualified me. Therefore, whenever I sit in silence with my Lord and record the words of my heart, I overcome the enemy. When I write something that touches someone else, it makes a liar out of him.
When I do this long enough, my desire to write becomes stronger than my desire to procrastinate. Serving my Lord and doing His will have become more prominent in my life than the enemy’s lies.
Usually, when we are hurting, there is one lie we strongly believe. If we ask God, He will show us what it is and help us overcome it. We don’t have to stay in places of pain, tormented by the enemy. We have the victory through Christ Jesus.
We can uncover lies and replace them with God’s truth. One will lift us up, and the other will tear us down. And the most beautiful part is that we can choose which one we want to believe.
