I know how hard it can be amid the pain. It surrounds us, threatens us, and makes us feel like things will never improve. But that’s not true. God has a plan. He can make a way.
Sometimes, when the waves of pain and misery are crashing over me, I try to remember who created the world and has power over the sea. The enemy works in our minds. Most of the time, it’s not our circumstance that creates our pain. It’s our thoughts about it.
Therefore, if our thoughts cause a problem, we can also fix the problem with our thoughts. As simple as it seems, we have to create new thought patterns.
Challenging my beliefs and thoughts was one of the greatest things I ever did for myself. When I became willing to let go of the painful thoughts and opened myself to new perspectives, God showed them to me.
So often, we stay stuck in miserable situations because of a what-if thought pattern. We allow the enemy to insert catastrophic possibilities into the equation. Actually, the chance of the bad thing happening is probably very low, but the enemy inflates it with fear.
Fear is a controlling mechanism. Why do you think God tells us repeatedly in His word to fear not? If the enemy can instill enough fear in us, he can control us.
Lots of times, we do what the enemy says to avoid the possibility of fear rather than the blessings God has for us. Somehow the enemy makes it seem better. But it’s not.
Fear is a liar. It’s a blessing stealer. But we can overcome fear with faith. When we turn to the Lord, the moment the fear arises within us, God will show us how to overcome it. Most of the battles we face in life are inside of us. Do you know who is also inside of us? God.
He’s there for us, sweet friends. God can speak His peace to our souls that no amount of fear can shake. He can help us rise above any attack from the enemy- real or imaginary.
When I’m really struggling, I pray until I feel better. Sometimes, I can reach God on the first try, and sometimes, it feels like the hundredth attempt, but if we don’t give up, we will eventually reach the Lord. And when we get Him, we receive His beautiful reassurance.
I love it when He tells me not to worry—He’s got it. There’s so much peace and reassurance from the Lord. God has interrupted my tears and prayers with His comfort before, and it always makes me feel so loved.
