Embracing God’s Truths: Overcoming Pain and Inspiring Others

How often do we limit ourselves and God? Sometimes, we build our lives on the enemy’s lies instead of God’s truths. We settle for the life we have instead of going after the one we want. And the saddest part is that we tell ourselves it is God’s will for us.
When I was so sick, struggling through my days, the enemy told me a life of misery and pain was God’s will for me. He had me believing that I needed the pain to be able to do God’s work. But I was miserable. Even if I didn’t voice my complaints, they were there.
I soon realized that it’s not enduring the pain that inspires others and becomes a testimony to God; it is overcoming it. If I tell you about my struggles without telling you how God blessed me to overcome them, you will just feel sorry for me. There is no honor and glory for God in the struggle, but rather what we decide to do with it.
When we allow God to take the pain and turn it into blessings, others get a glimpse of our amazing Lord. It is the trials and tribulations that lead to glory and help us be witnesses for God. But only if we go all the way with the Lord.
If we stop amid the trial, we will remain in the pain. And as hard as we might try, we can’t praise our Lord if we feel hopeless. Our hearts have to feel the blessing before we can truly praise Him and show others a glimpse of His greatness.
I once heard a speaker who I have never forgotten. She told us all about how bad her life was, sharing her pain in great detail. And at the very end, she said, “I believe God is going to help me. “But there was no power in her words. She painted a picture of doom and gloom and then tried to speak of hope. Her words of hope and faith were unbelievable.
If we don’t believe, how can we convince others? As a child of God, if I don’t have faith in God, whom I know and have a relationship with, how can I inspire others to trust Him?
God wants to do big things in our lives and give us powerful testimonies to share. He doesn’t want us, as His children, to try to survive on the crumbs of life. God wants us to trust Him and live as if we TRUST HIM.
Even if we desire to live a simple life, we should be grateful for everything. It is the gratitude in our hearts that truly praises God.
