Embracing Change: A Journey Beyond the Comfort Zone

Life can sometimes feel like Groundhog Day. We wake up, follow the same routine throughout the day, and repeat the same routine the next day. When we live this way, our days and years run together. We go through the motions but never really prosper.
But to achieve something different, we have to be willing to change. And therein lies the problem. I don’t like change.
I love my comfort zone, even though it makes me miserable most days. But at least I am comfortable with the discomfort.
It breaks my heart when I audit all the ways I am comfortable with my discomfort—just writing that down makes me shake my head. I want more, but to get more, I must be willing to do things differently.
When I reach the end of my life, I don’t want to have anything left.
I want to use everything God gave me.
I want to accomplish all the dreams on my heart.
I want to help everyone that He gave me to help.
I want to have wisdom to pass down to the next generation.
I want to have a legacy to leave behind of following the Lord and doing His work.
None of those things will happen in my comfort zone. Therefore, I must be willing to follow the Lord wherever He leads me. I have to decide today that I don’t want to just get by every day, but I want to live and thrive.
We can change when the desire to change becomes greater than the desire to remain the same.
Sweet friend, we don’t have to do it alone. God will be with us every step of the way. He can comfort our fears and give us strength and courage to pursue our hearts’ desires.
