Does Exercise Affect Cancer?

Today is World Cancer Day. To raise awareness for this dead disease, I decided to blog about it. We all know someone who is battling this horrible disease right now. My thoughts and prayers always go out to them. The destruction it causes on the human body, along with the deadly medications to treat it, often leave our loved ones weak. In the weakened state, it is so hard for them to be able to fight off the disease, not to mention the ability and strength to exercise.

Studies show, however, that the endorphins created from exercising might actually be what they need because endorphins shrink tumors and kill cancer cells. You can read the article here. The article also talks about the benefits of a high fat diet to starve the cancer cells. While we may never know the exact formula to treat this deadly disease, I believe that we may have the tools we need to help.

This is one of the reasons why I am so passionate about the proper nutrition for our bodies and exercise. Trust me, I talk about it to anyone who will listen. It may not prolong our days on this earth, but it may help us to enjoy our lives more.

Studies show that exercise does the following:
  1. Boost brain health
  2. Make us feel happier
  3. Helps us to have better skin
  4. Make us look younger
  5. Helps us to heal faster from chronic conditions
I don’t know about you, but those are all awesome reasons to get me moving. As a matter of fact, I think I’ll go for a walk now. It is chilly here in East Tennessee, but the sun is shinning beautifully. Being in nature, walking and talking to the Lord is one of my favorite things to do.

Happy Saturday!

Love and blessings,

Candida
