Are you tired of being told what to think and how to feel?

Everyone has some version of the truth they want us to believe. While it might be their truth based on their experiences and beliefs, it can also not be mine. That was one of my most significant eye-opening experiences, and it helped me understand that someone else’s truth doesn’t have to be mine.

One of the most incredible things I did was learn to think critically for myself. The world constantly tries to twist and manipulate our thoughts and emotions, but by developing our own independent thinking, we can experience personal growth and inspiration.

When I have an experience that troubles me somehow, I like to sit with the Lord and find His absolute truth. I ask Him to lead me, guide me, and show me the truth of it all. And then what to do about it.

Satan wants us to be offended by everything. He wants us to get so tied up in the world’s things and beliefs that we stay aggravated all the time. If He can keep our minds busy trying to prove ourselves and defend our beliefs constantly, then we won’t have time to spend with Him and serve Him like we need to.

Standing up for and with God means our hearts are connected and centered on Him. And we do what He tells us to do. I’ve wanted to stand and fight so many times in His name. I’ve wanted to speak against wrong things, but God frequently tells me to stand still.

God doesn’t need me to fight His battles. He needs me to be obedient. He needs me to love Him wholeheartedly and my neighbor as myself.

Think about this: if God wouldn’t allow Peter to fight with the soldiers as they were arresting Jesus to crucify, then He doesn’t want me to fight with those who believe differently than me.

Even when they shamed and mocked Jesus and spit in His face, He didn’t fight or open His mouth. To be Christlike, we have to follow His example. We have to put our thoughts and feelings aside and do the will of our Father.

Following the will of my Father and trusting Him to take care of my every need gives my soul great peace. I want to be someone God can trust. Someone my Lord can use. And someone He can count on to speak when He gives me something to say and to remain quiet when He tells me to do it.

I don’t want to have a form of religion and deny the power of God. I want the POWER AND WILL OF GOD to be my everything.
