Someone Is Counting on Your Obedience

What if Jesus had made excuses?

God had a plan for Jesus. He was born to do it. Created for that specific purpose from the very beginning. What God called Him to do had never been done before. And yet, Jesus gave God obedience and faithfulness.

Even when it cost Him everything.

I had to sit with that truth for a moment. I paused my writing and reflected on it. I saw Jesus on the cross, covered in His blood and my sins, and I felt so thankful. Thankful that Jesus doesn’t make excuses. Thankful that He walked in obedience to His death, so I could have eternal life.

Inside the gratitude of His obedience, I also felt the sting of my disobedience. Every excuse I have ever given God about my calling feels heavy. What if someone was counting on me to do what God called me to do?

When I look at my excuses this way, they are not small or harmless. They carry a weight that I had never understood before.

We are all created for a purpose. Created to help one another. To make a difference.

Our lives are not just for us. When we get saved, we are the body of Christ. What we do or refuse to do matters.

Obedience matters.

Faithfulness matters.

Spending time with God matters.

Surrendering to His will matters.

Opening my heart fully matters.

Loving others the way He loves me matters.

When we surrender our lives to God, He can use them. He can use us to help others while guiding us toward our ultimate purpose.

Luke 22:42 KJV

42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

The ultimate goal for our lives is to accomplish what God created us to do according to His will. That’s what Jesus did. He gave God everything He had through life and death. He didn’t love or serve partway. He went all the way.
