Hope is such a beautiful gift, and the Bible contains an abundance of it. Regardless of what I am going through, there is a Bible verse that will inspire hope if I believe it. But that’s the problem. We often read God’s word as a history record instead of a conversation.
As long as we believe it is only in the past, we won’t welcome it into our everyday lives and allow it to create our future. God’s word is alive. I can feel it. Therefore, when I read it as if God is speaking directly to me, He does. And when I take it a step further, believe His word, and apply it to my life, it gives me hope.
God’s word shines light into my darkness. It seeps into the painful places that are hard to accept or understand. When God speaks to us, we feel the power in His words and believe His promises.
When we have an experience with God that surpasses all logical thinking, we marvel at His goodness. God can make impossible things possible. And when it happens, especially if we have prayed for the impossible, it makes me feel so loved, seen, and heard.
The more we walk by faith, the more we experience God’s goodness. He has repeatedly moved mountains and created miracles for me. Every time it happens, I’m so awed by Him. The feeling that accompanies the blessing is indescribable.
When the God of it all takes time to work with me, bless me, help me, and care for me so beautifully, it humbles me.
God doesn’t forget about us or a single promise. He never fails to bring in the harvest for all our work. Recently, He blessed me with a gift that had been in the works for ten years. That’s why it is so crucial for us not to give up. We don’t know how close we are to the blessing.
While I don’t know when God will answer my prayers, I believe that He will. And that hope carries me through hard days.
Luke 18:27 KJV
27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
