Have you asked God what you need to learn from the trial?

I believe it will be over once we learn what we are supposed to learn from the trial. My problem, however, is that I try to figure it out independently. I try something in myself, and when it doesn’t work, my mind shifts toward thoughts of defeat. Because I couldn’t do it myself, I often think it’s impossible with God, too. And that creates a lot of my suffering.

I am often still suffering because I’m not willing to learn the things God wants to teach me. God won’t take me to the next level if I am unwilling to learn, reluctant to spend time with Him, and unwilling to follow Him.

If we hurry through our hardships without thoroughly learning and growing through them, we will waste them. It’s kind of like learning something new. Each step builds to the next one. But we cannot thrive and keep going if we don’t understand the first step.

God knows this, so He makes us learn what we need to understand before we move on. But if we resist the lessons, we will stay in a cycle of pain. We will become frustrated because we can’t make progress. We may even blame God or others for our misery, but the trust is that our growth is our responsibility.

It is beautiful when we are willing to put aside our limitations and expectations and stop sabotaging ourselves.

God wants to help us. He wants to teach us, work with us, and watch us prosper and grow. But He won’t force us. It’s something we have to be willing to do.

Today, find a quiet place for you and God and ask Him what you need to learn from your trial. Then, ask Him to help you. We often stay in areas of pain because we fail to include God in our everyday lives. We make decisions without Him. We struggle without Him. And then we wonder why we can’t do it.

But God can change everything. He can make the impossible things possible.
