As long as shame is attached to us and our story, we will struggle to rise above our circumstances. We will always allow shame to sabotage us in some way because, deep inside, we will feel unworthy of more. While the enemy tries to make the unworthiness feel like humbleness, it’s not.
Unworthiness means that we don’t think we deserve it. Humbleness implies that we know it was a gift from God and are grateful for it.
To rise above our circumstances, we have to be willing to let go of anything that doesn’t help us. To be free of shame, all we have to do is let go of it. No one can make us feel anything we don’t want.
Most of the pain and suffering happens in our minds. We keep ourselves locked in a prison of shame, guilt, limiting beliefs, regrets, grudges, and hatred. Those things eat away at our inner selves until they consume us and create such a stronghold on us that we struggle to break free.
So often, we fail to see that the only thing standing in the way of accomplishing our dreams is ourselves and what we believe.
If we believe it’s possible, and desire it grealty in our hearts, then it is possible. We will start acting and praying like it’s possible, making choices that support our beliefs, and living like it will happen.
The only person we have to convince is ourselves. We are the deciding factor. God already knows that we can do it. He’s just waiting for us to realize that we can do it and let go of the shame, limitations, and pain attached to our story. God can turn our heartaches into blessings.
The big question is: will you let Him?
Will you let God use it all to give you a story of redemption? Will you allow God to provide you with the blessings your heart desires? Or will you keep the shame and pain that threatens to steal your dreams and your blessings?
