Do you embrace the limitations and hardships the enemy puts on you, or do you strive to overcome them?

For so many years, I accepted my limitations. I listened intently as the enemy told me I wouldn’t get better. His words echoed even louder as the pain intensified. One morning, as I lay on the bathroom floor in a cold sweat as my body trembled, I felt the weight of his words.

You will never get better.

You are only going to get worse.

Healing is not part of God’s plan for you.

You will always suffer.

You are weak.

The words continued as the tears rolled down my face. I didn’t know what to do. A big part of me believed the lies because I had proof that they were true. But another part hoped for something different.

In my pain, fear, and uncertainty of it all, I cried out to Jesus. Jesus, please help me, I sobbed. After a few minutes of crying and praying, I felt a little stronger. So I got up, determined to keep going.

We don’t always have to know how it is going to work out for us. We don’t have to have the entire plan to take the first step. We just have to believe that Jesus can help us to overcome whatever the enemy throws at us.

God can give us the strength to keep going.

Philippians 4:13 KJV

13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

He can make a way even if there is no way.

John 14:6KJV

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Just because we have no evidence doesn’t mean it’s impossible. God can make the impossible things possible.

Luke 18:27 KJV

27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

When we pray as we believe and act as if we think it’s possible, then God will show us how to overcome it. Even if our circumstances don’t improve, God can show us how to think differently about them. He can show us how to overcome the enemy in our minds and live joyfully despite our circumstances.

It’s not what happens to us that determines our lives, but what we decide to do with what happens to us that truly makes all the difference.

Jesus will help you, too, sweet friend! Ask Him.
