Are you following the Lord or trying to find your way?

Psalm 23:1 (KJV)

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

I love knowing that the Lord will take care of me and give me what I need when I need it. Sometimes, what I need hurts me, but to grow, I have to become uncomfortable.

The whole process of growth is challenging. Most of the time, I want to quit amid hardship. My brain starts focusing on the problem instead of the blessing. During this time, if I humble my heart and cry out to God, He will help me.

My problem is that I want to lead the way and be my shepherd. I get in trouble when I go off alone and start making decisions. My paths usually lead to hardships and dead ends. Then, as I stand in unfamiliar territory, hurting and afraid, I wonder where my Lord is.

God is on the right path. He doesn’t alter His course because we decide to go another way. Therefore, we have to turn our lives around and seek Him. Once we seek the Lord with our whole hearts, we will find Him. Then, we can follow Him.

When we follow the Lord, we will still have challenges, but we won’t go through them alone. God will help us and bless us through whatever we go through.
