I WON both Red Letter Awards!
Ten years ago, when I was so sick, I had a tough decision to make. My doctors told me to sign up for disability and to give it all up. My third book in the Zippy series had just been released and turned into a play. I had my dream, which I had wanted for so long, and it was being threatened.
I lay in bed day after day and cried. I asked God what He wanted me to do. He encouraged me to sign up for the gym and to keep going. In those dark moments, God shined His light on me. He showed me all those we would help. It was like a movie playing.
At that time, Zippy’s Club was nominated for an award. God knew my heart desired to be an award-winning children’s author partly because I received so many rejections as a children’s author.
So, He showed me that Zippy’s Club would win an award. I fought so hard to get better and to keep doing His work.
I was so confused when Zippy’s Club didn’t win in 2014. I thought I had somehow misunderstood Him. I had forgotten about it and thought it wasn’t meant to be.
God doesn’t forget about us.
Fast forward ten years, I was nominated for Best Children’s Author for (are you ready for this) Zippy’s Club Journal. And I won.
The day I received the nomination, God reminded me of the promise He made to me. God doesn’t forget about us. He is an excellent paymaster.
God gave me a double blessing.
I also won the Ambassador for Christ award. With this one, God showed me that He sees all my hard work. He sees me at 4 a.m., writing and reading His word. He sees me using the gifts He gave me. And He allowed those making the decision on this to see my heart.
Thank you all for voting for me and my family for going with me. I had such an amazing time at the Red Letter Awards. God blessed me immensely.
