Do you ever pray for help and end up with more problems?
When we ask God to help us, we must also be willing for Him to hurt us. Sometimes the next step on our journey is a painful one. But in Romans 8:28, the scripture promises us that it all works together for good to them that love God and are the called according to His purpose.
In the storm, we can’t see how God could work it all out to our benefit. We see the power of the storm and allow it to make us fearful, but fail to see the mighty hand of God.
If God calls us to do something, He will make the way for us to be able to do it. But that doesn’t mean we won’t end up in the fire from time to time. It just means that the fire won’t have the power to destroy us.
Sometimes we have to go into the fire, sweet friends, so we can show others the God who can deliver us.
God could have taken the children of Israel a different way. He could have taken off the chariot wheels of Pharaoh’s army at any point, but He waited on purpose. God showed them all a miracle at the Red Sea. There wasn’t a way, but God made a way.
When we find ourselves chased by the enemy and backed into a corner or led into the fire, we need to look for God because He will come right on time and make a way for us.
At the end of our ability, we find God. He doesn’t have limitations. God has miracles.
I remember how I felt when I fell and hurt my elbow. I was already living with chronic, overwhelming pain, and God gave me more. As the tears raced down my face, I wondered why God would give me more pain when I had been begging Him to relieve my pain.
The elbow injury got me to the surgeon, who made me a thumb on my left hand, helped me use my hand more, and helped with my chronic pain. God answered my prayer. But the process was painful.
To follow God and work with Him, we have to trust Him.
Trust Him in the pain.
Trust Him in the mess.
Trust Him in the process.
Trust Him to do what is best.
God’s got you!
Lean into the pain and let God use it to help you grow. When the enemy throws hardships and pain at us, the greatest thing we can do is humble ourselves before God and let Him use it for good.
Isaiah 43:2 KJV
2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
