Do you ever feel too weak to do what needs to be done or what God wants you to do?
Oh, sweet friend. I get it. I really do.
I’ve often allowed my weaknesses, vulnerabilities, and faults to stand in my way. To become the person God created us to be means that we have to get to the very end of us. We have to push to our limits to see His goodness and glory.
As long as I’m leaning on my own strength, I’m missing the chance to experience His. Then, when I’m able to do it, I give myself credit instead of Him. But most of the time, I live in my own strength. The moment it gets hard, I believe I can’t do it and quit.
It’s during the struggle that we either overcome or give up. If we push through all the barriers and pray for strength and the ability to do it, then God comes through.
When I feel the absolute weakest and I pray for God’s help and strength, it is then that I become the strongest. God is my strength.
People remark all the time on my strength. But I know that most of the time I feel weak and broken. I struggle through each day. I cry all the time. Sometimes I pray continuously for the ability to keep going.
And when my burdens ease, I KNOW MY VICTORY COMES FROM JESUS.
Even Jesus didn’t live in His own strength. He prayed to God. In the garden before He was captured, Jesus prayed. On the cross before He was crucified, Jesus prayed.
If He needed to pray for the strength to do God’s will, so do we.
Matthew 26:39 (KJV)
39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
And here’s God’s promise to us in our weakness:
2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV)
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
My greatest struggle in life is that I want to live in comfort, according to my own will. I want to live for myself, and God wants me to live for Him.
The only way to overcome the struggle of my flesh is through prayer.
Prayer is a line to God. Through prayer, we can reach our Lord.
So when the struggles of life start expanding, pray.
- When the disappointments come, pray.
- When the pain becomes unbearable, pray.
- When your circumstances are scary, pray.
And God will strengthen you and help you, just like He did Jesus.
