The Beauty of Serving God Through Serving Others

One of the greatest ways we can live our lives is in service to others. When we focus our attention on our brothers and sisters in the Lord and strive to help them carry their burdens, then our own hardships don’t seem as bad. Some of my greatest prayers and most precious blessings have come during seasons when my eyes were on others rather than myself.
We are the body of Christ. Therefore, we need to use our hands, feet, and heart to serve Him. We need to pray with love and then open our arms wide to receive others. The world is filled with heartache. So many people feel hopeless and helpless. God left us here to do His work. Therefore, we should do it with our whole heart.
But what is standing in your way?
Most often, the only thing standing in my way is me. I don’t have to listen to the lies of my enemy—I forget that I have a choice. At any moment, I can choose to pick up my cross and follow after Jesus. But so often, I let my doubts and fears hold me back.
Oh, but when I can overcome it all and take a step toward Jesus…
When I’ve got my eyes on Him…
Then I feel fully alive. Every time I move toward Him, He moves toward me with even greater love.
I love it when I am in the center of His will for my life. He gives me work to do, and then He blesses me abundantly. When His Spirit stirs in my soul, then I am satisfied, and the joy bubbles up inside of me and spills over to others. It is such a beautiful blessing to be able to work with the Lord. It makes me want to get out of bed in the morning. I get excited because I know His work matters. And it makes me feel so very grateful to be able to work with Him.
Friends, my heart can’t even imagine what Heaven will be like. Every once in a while, when His Spirit touches me, I get a little glimpse of Heaven. When I feel the presence of the Lord, then nothing else matters to me. My heart can’t contain the joy and love. One day, I will get to be with Him forever in this beautiful state.
While I’m here, though, I want to be about my Father’s business. I want to live joyfully, love unconditionally, and do the kind of work that matters—in this life and for all of Eternity.
