Run to God and Watch the Devil Flee

We think that the enemy just wants us not to serve or worship the Lord. But the truth is that he wants to destroy us.

If he can get us to move away from the Lord, we get weaker. The farther we move away from the Lord, the weaker we become.

Then, he goes to work on us. He gets us to sabotage our health, relationships, waste our gifts, numb ourselves, think negative thoughts, and feel bad all the time. When we stop caring about others and ourselves, he has us right where he wants us.

Anytime we make excuses for ourselves, we give him leverage over us. When we believe his lies, we give him more power over us. Every time we follow him over the Lord, we strengthen his control over us.

Until we feel so defeated and overwhelmed.

He works in our minds. Every day, he shows up to deceive us and try to defeat us. But when we cry out to Jesus, we can change it all.

In Jesus, we discover the truth. He has the strength we need to defeat the enemy. And there is great power in His name.

Often, my problem is that I try to stand on my strength against the devil. However, I’m unequipped to defeat him on my own. But when Jesus enters the fight, He puts Satan on the run for me.

Jesus wants to fight for us. He is our protector and comforter. He has already faced Satan and defeated him.

The closer I stay to God, the harder it is for the devil to get to me. When Satan starts working on me, if I run to God, He will take care of the enemy for me.

Sweet friends, we don’t have to stay in places of pain. We don’t have to lie in the fetal position while the enemy kicks us. We can rise, cry out to Jesus, and stand on God’s word. We can fight back because we have victory in Jesus.

James 4:7 KJV

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
