Outside My Comfort Zone, God Showed Up

Recently, I bought a new pair of sunglasses. They’re not typically something I would buy. I love them, but wearing them feels a little out of my comfort zone. So as I put them on, I felt very uncomfortable. My inner dialogue was a back-and-forth, and I even had a little buyer’s remorse.

I truly couldn’t understand why I had such strong feelings about the sunglasses. It was like a battle inside of me. To my logical mind, none of my feelings fully aligned with the situation. Truly, it wasn’t that big of a deal. Even if I never wore them again, I could give them to someone else.

But it felt big.

While I was battling a particular issue within myself, I looked down and somehow saw a rainbow in them. Rainbows are my sign from God. They show up anytime I’m struggling and need reassurance from Him.

Oh, how God showed up for me today.

I had been praying for help. The issue I was struggling with was also being discussed on a podcast I was listening to, and at the same time I saw rainbows reflecting in my glasses. They were so bright. It felt like God was sitting in the car with me, assuring me that everything was going to work out perfectly.

No wonder the enemy fought me so hard.

Sometimes I can’t truly explain my experiences with God, but I’m so thankful that I get to experience Him on such a deep level. I’m grateful that He cares for me in such beautiful ways. He uses little things to get my attention—to lead and guide me.

God meets me where I am and shows me that outside of my comfort zone is where He will bless me abundantly.

Afterwards, I walked back through the whole experience. If I had not followed my heart and bought them, worn them, prayed, and listened to the podcast, none of it would have happened.

But God was setting up something special for me. All of it aligned to show me the way and give me confirmation. I needed that moment to strengthen my faith so I can believe Him for things to come.

Sweet friends, God works in the big moments and the small moments. If we look for His goodness, we will find it everywhere. He cares for us so deeply that He sets up blessings for us.

And when it happens, I can’t help but smile through my tears at how my God completely and totally amazes me.

The God moments in my life are my absolute favorite moments. They show me the beauty and power of faith. That morning, during my Bible reading, God gave me two verses in Proverbs to think about and meditate on:

Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Only God can align everything so beautifully. I love working with Him. He continues to show me things, and I’m so grateful I get to do this work with Him.
