Knowing About God vs. Experiencing Him

Have you ever heard something that doesn’t feel right to your soul?
Some people talk about the Lord, while others experience Him. Serving God is not a list of rules or a special club to join. It is an experience. When we meet God, we are never the same.
Getting to know the Lord is such a beautiful gift. His love is abundant and filled with peace and joy. We don’t know Him with our minds and logical brain. We experience God from the heart.
Anyone can read the Bible and offer their own interpretation of who they believe God to be. We can all learn the scriptures and how to quote them. However, those who have a genuine heart-changing experience with God want to live according to the scriptures.
We shouldn’t just talk about love, but we should show it. We should strive to love as Jesus loves and try to love people to Jesus.
Sometimes when I’m writing, God gives me beautiful thoughts. As I just typed love people to Jesus, it gave me such a wonderful image. That’s what I want to do. We can’t show people to Jesus if we are not loving them.
Sweet friends, not everyone who claims to know God really does. Some people have an idea of who God is, and they want to know Him, but they haven’t had the experience yet. Therefore, they are trying to tell others about a God they don’t honestly know themselves.
That’s where a lot of confusion comes from.
God is not the author of confusion. Therefore, when someone causes me confusion or says something against God’s word, it doesn’t feel right in my soul.
When I take it to the Lord, He shows me the truth.
Ways I know it’s from God:
- It aligns with scripture.
- It brings clarity to my situation.
- It fills me with hope and encouragement.
Recently, I’ve been reflecting on the responsibility that comes with standing in the name of God. I never want my words to be discouraging or to hurt anyone. I don’t want to confuse you ever.
While I try my best to follow the Lord and show up with a humble spirit, I am human. I fail and make mistakes. So if I ever write something that doesn’t feel right in your soul, please take it to God.
The same applies to anyone else. If someone says something that doesn’t feel right to you, pray about it. Don’t just accept it as the truth. The nudge that it’s not right is wisdom from God. Please don’t ignore it.
Matthew 24:24 KJV
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
If something doesn’t sit right in your spirit today, pause and pray. God will show you His truth.
