How to Get Through Hardship

Do you ever wonder how you will get through your hardships?

I know how it feels to be overwhelmed. The pressures of life stack upon each other until it feels as if they will crush us. In the overwhelm, we don’t feel strong enough, smart enough, or good enough to keep going. We feel this way because we are relying on ourselves, and not on the higher power of our ultimate strength.

Psalm 61:1-2 KJV
[1] Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. [2] From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

When we try to carry it all, we become tired and weak. As we try to carry the heavy burdens, the enemy sits on the sidelines and mocks us. He screams our fears, self-doubts, and heartaches because he wants us to give up and quit.

During these times, the most significant thing we can do is pray. Sometimes all I can utter is pitiful; please help me, Lord. But He hears the groaning of my heart.

We can pray while we work, thinking of the praises for our Lord. We can make a difference every single day.

Sweet friends, we are not defeated. The blood of Jesus powers us. One of the most incredible things we can do when we are in the trenches is to help someone else. When I focus on the pain and suffering of someone else and cry out to God for them, my pain doesn’t hurt as profoundly because I focus on the solution and not the problem.

We are living in these times right now because God chose us. God handpicked us for this battle. We are His warriors, and we can overcome the enemy through Christ.

As the enemy proclaims our weaknesses, we need to declare God’s incredible strength. We need to remember why we are fighting this battle and what is at stake. People are dying without knowing the Lord. We need to show them the way to the truth and the Lord.

We don’t fight for victory—we fight from victory, because Christ has already won.
