God’s Will or Mine?

Are you living according to God’s will or your own will?

Every day, I need to ask myself this question and check in with where I am in my life.

When I live according to God’s will, I take everything to Him in prayer. I don’t rely on my own understanding or wisdom; instead, I seek the Lord and allow Him to direct me. This is where peace lives.

When I make decisions on my own and live according to my flesh, I get myself into trouble and create unnecessary misery. Then I feel overwhelmed, discouraged, and fearful.

We should never make important decisions without seeking the Lord first and then obeying His instructions. The Lord will never lead us wrong. People, however, can sometimes unintentionally.

If someone gives us advice without consulting the Lord, it could unknowingly be influenced by the enemy. And if we follow that guidance without prayer, we may be led into confusion or harm.

Prayer is such a beautiful gift. We are invited to talk to our Father, who loves us unconditionally and desires what is best for us. When God is the center of our lives, everything begins to align—not perfectly, but purposefully.

We should never ignore the whispers of the Lord, even when they don’t make sense to us. God sees what we cannot see. He knows what tomorrow holds. If we desire a life rooted in peace, direction, and purpose, we must allow the Lord to be an active part of our lives every single day.

Proverbs 3:5–6 (KJV)
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
