Why We Feel Empty (Even When Life Is Full)

The world wants to distract us from what is important. There is always something new or shiny that competes for our attention. If we are not intentional, we will lose sight of what is truly important and spend our time on things that bring us down rather than lift us.

The absolute most crucial thing in life is love.
And truly… nothing matters without it.

God is love.

The more we focus on His love, the more we are filled with it, and the more love we will have to give to others. That is the greatest gift that we can give someone else. Without love, nothing really matters in our lives. We often feel void and empty. The problem is usually that we are seeking the thing we need from other people or the world. But what our souls are starving for can only come from God. He is the only One who can truly fill the emptiness inside of us.

The more we feel His love, the more alive we feel.
When His Spirit stirs in my soul, I have everything that I need.

It gives me unconditional love, forgiveness, peace, joy, strength, etc. God helps me to love my family unconditionally and to serve them with a selfless heart.

When I walk in God’s love, the sun shines a little brighter, and the beauty of God’s creation looks even more beautiful to me. Other people are more beautiful to me as well. Because God’s love helps me to look beyond someone’s sin and see who they are, not what they’ve done. When I am aligned with God, I love everyone, and I want what is best for them.

Regardless of what happens to me, I want to choose love every day. I want to choose love over sin. Love is the only thing that can break the barrier of sin. Love softens hearts, breaks chains, and leads people home. When we decide to love someone unconditionally, in the midst of their storm, then our love could be their lighthouse—showing them the way back home.

1 Corinthians 13:2 (KJV)
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
