Who Are You Living For?

The day I realized my life wasn’t just about me changed everything. For years, I had made it all about me—until one day I asked God a simple question that would change my life forever.
What is my purpose?
My heart longed for the answer. Why did the Creator of the whole world create me?
We know that anytime someone creates something, it’s made for a specific purpose. Someone sees a need and creates something to fulfill it. That’s why God created us—each one of us has a special purpose in this world.
So often, we make our lives all about what we want. But that’s where much of our stress and anxiety come from. We have a plan for our lives—or we think it should be a certain way—and when it’s not, we become upset. We try to control our lives rather than surrender them to God.
But He knows why He created us. When we walk in our purpose, we will experience peace and joy.
It is an incredible feeling to be aligned with God and to do the work our soul craves. Nothing else can satisfy our souls like God. He created us, so He knows exactly what we need. It is such a blessing to do His work.
God’s work matters. Each one of us has a special place in His battlefield. We simply need to find out what He wants us to do—and then do it with our whole heart. At the end of our lives, we will know that we lived wisely and made a difference in some way.
God doesn’t expect us to figure it all out on our own. He invites us to come to Him, to ask, and to listen. When we do, He reveals the purpose He placed within us.
Today, will you ask Him what He created you to do?
Colossians 1:16 (KJV)
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him.
