When You Can’t See the Plan, Trust the Planner

Control is an illusion. The enemy uses it to distract and delay us. When we spend all our energy trying to control uncontrollable things, we become discouraged and think it’s impossible. But the real problem is not in the control, but who we believe holds the power.
It humbles me to understand that I don’t even know how to breathe on my own. My heart pumps blood throughout my body, my lungs inhale and exhale, and my brain manages my body. Yet, I don’t know how any of it truly works. It just happens.
God gives me everything I need at the exact moment I need it. He provides the breath when it needs to happen. I never stand up and forget how to walk. It all just happens perfectly.
When I realize who is truly in control of it all, I can relax into the power of my Lord. HE’S GOT IT! All of it. God knows how to handle every problem. Nothing happens beyond His will. Everything has to go through Him. The enemy can’t even get to us, except through the Lord.
While God does allow us to experience things sometimes, it is all for His honor and glory. He has a purpose for everything that happens, even the things I don’t understand.
Romans 8:28 KJV
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
The twenty-eighth verse in the eighth chapter of Romans is one of my favorites. It lets me know that it ALL works together for GOOD. I love God, and when He saved me, He called me according to His purpose. My most significant responsibility is to be a witness to my Lord.
God didn’t call me to control things or to make things happen. He called me to let God use me to show His goodness. One of the greatest things we can do is allow God to use us—and not only use us but for us to do His will with faith and trust.
When I trust my Lord, and have faith that He will work it all out for my benefit, I don’t need to control things. I trust God to do what is best for me.
Honestly, to try to work against God and change things He allowed is pointless. It only exhausts us and stresses us out.
Ecclesiastes 7:13 KJV
13 Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked?
We should work with God and spend our days seeking His will. God knows how to make it all happen, and when we seek Him, we will find more than we expected.
