When We Stop Fighting the Process

We can’t rush God.

The trial is supposed to teach us, mold us, and bring out the best in us. As much as we would love to rush through the process, it takes time. During the trial, we can resist the change and still try to do things our way. We can fight with all of our strength to fix it quickly, but all that will do is delay the blessing and increase the pain.

The best thing we can do is surrender to God’s will.

It matters how we choose to go through trials. We can resist and complain about it all. Every day we can hate our lives and the circumstances we are in. I’ve been there. All it does is make life completely miserable. Or we can surrender to God completely and find joy in the moments we are in.

When we try to control others, outcomes, and our time in the fire, we create even more problems. Sometimes we make the trial harder than it needs to be.

But when we learn to sit with God in the fire, He will teach us and mold us. He wants a relationship with us. God is with us in the fire. He uses it all for our good.

Romans 8:28 KJV

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

It’s hard to accept that the pain and hardships can work together for good when we are in it. In the trial, it all feels overwhelming and consuming. But God is there waiting for us to turn to Him.

That’s the turning point.

When we fully turn our hearts back to God and allow love to guide us. When we release control and allow Him to be our God. When we stop trying to earn love and please people.

God knows all the answers to the problems in our lives. He has the resources we need. When life feels completely overwhelming, I know it can be hard to take the time and sit with God. The enemy tells us that we can’t slow down. We don’t have time to read our Bibles and pray. But honestly, that is the absolute best way to spend our time.

If we ask God to give us our orders for the day, He will. If we ask Him to lead and guide us the right way, He will. Sometimes it’s not about doing more, but praying more that makes all the difference.

We can run as fast as we can through our trials, without any rest at all. But we won’t get through them quicker if we are running in the wrong direction.
