When Faith Feels Fragile

Do you trust God with your deepest, most heartbreaking prayers?
One day, as I was driving, my mind drifted back to something I had been praying about for years. Without warning, the weight of it hit me, and I began praying through my tears.
Then the doubt crept in.
What if God never answers this prayer?
What if I don’t have enough faith?
Do I even have the mustard-seed faith the Bible talks about?
As I wrestled with those thoughts, I pulled into a gas station. When I turned off my vehicle and looked up, I saw a rainbow stretched across the sky. Oh, how it comforted me.
God often uses this symbol to meet me in my troubled moments. I’ve seen it so many times throughout my life—always when my heart is hurting or my faith feels fragile. In that moment, my tears of heartache and doubt turned into tears of praise. With deep certainty, I knew God had heard me. And I knew He was going to answer my prayer.
Sweet friends, God hears our prayers, and He understands our tears. He has sat with me through years of crying and pleading over this very thing. He has not turned away from me. And at the appropriate time, He will answer.
After all, He knows what we need before we even ask Him.
Isaiah 65:24 (KJV)
And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
