What If We Prayed More Often?

How often do you talk to God?
Is it only when life feels like it’s falling apart—or do you talk to Him throughout the day, in the little and big moments?
Sometimes I just have to get uncomfortable and examine my life. Who am I right now, and who do I want to be? Whether I live my best life or barely get by, sinning with each moment, I’m still saved, and God still loves me. But because God sent His precious Son to die for my sins, and because I am His daughter, I want to do my very best to live like it.
The day the Lord saved me, I was no longer of the world. His salvation separated me. Therefore, I strive to live a good, Godly life.
Someone is watching me. Others are watching how I live—continuing to live as someone without the Lord is not honoring God.
He saved me and forever changed me. The gift of salvation is so precious that I want everyone to have it. So I need to do my best to give them a glimpse of my precious Lord. If others follow me, I want it to be to the Lord.
This morning, I’ve been thinking a great deal about prayer. Not just when things are wrong in our lives, but a continual conversation with the Lord. The Bible tells us to pray without ceasing. What if we lived that way? Can you imagine how extraordinary our lives could be?
Although I don’t always feel His presence every time I pray, I know He hears me. And what if I made an effort to pray more often? Instead of trying to pray to God once a day, what if I tried to pray once an hour? The more I try, the better the odds of experiencing His presence in my day. Instead of waiting for life to fall apart or trouble to hit, I want to pray more intentional prayers.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV
17 Pray without ceasing.
Philippians 4:6 KJV
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Today, I am honest with myself. I could do better. Therefore, it is my responsibility to do better. Sweet friends, let’s commit to making prayer not just an occasional lifeline, but a daily rhythm—our continual conversation with the One who loves us most.
