What If the Enemy Isn’t the Problem?

It’s easier for me to blame the enemy than it is for me to blame myself. If I blame someone else, I won’t change what is wrong in my life. If I continually blame the enemy, I can’t see my sins.
God allowed us to choose our beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and actions. While the enemy may stand on the sidelines and scream at me, he can’t make me do anything. He can put the worrisome thought in my mind, but I am the one who believes it and chooses to worry about it.
Knowing I can pick and choose my beliefs is powerful.
When something hurts me, I need to talk it over with the Lord. This morning, He helped me examine one of my beliefs differently. Just a subtle shift in my thinking changed the whole situation for me.
We don’t have to face the enemy alone. David faced Goliath in the name of the Lord. He didn’t listen to Goliath’s words, but David listened to the Word of God. God told David how to defeat Goliath, and He will also help us conquer our giants. We must believe it is possible, and God will show us the way.
