Untangling the Lies

I feel like one big ball of fear right now. Change is hard. It’s so difficult to take the next step when we can’t see the path, nor know the plan. Partly because the enemy hides in the shadows and tries to scare us.

He whispers things like:

You’re not good enough to do this work.

You’re going the wrong way.

You will always struggle.

You will not have what you need.

The longer I have conversations with the enemy, the louder his voice becomes. He lives in a lack, and he wants me to feel the same way. He denied the Lord, and all of his fear-based thoughts come from a life without God.

Satan lives without love and light. God is not in him; therefore, he doesn’t have the same resources that we have. Listening to him and believing his words is sabotaging ourselves. We create a lot of our misery by what we choose to believe.

I’ve read the Bible, from cover to cover, and I don’t recall a place where Satan was able to defeat God or God’s people. God supplied their needs. And He will supply our needs as well.

The opposite of fear is love. God is love, and He loves us. Therefore, we have everything we need because we have God.

When I feel the fear, I have two choices. I can listen to it and become more fearful, or I can run to God. In God’s arms, I find the peace my soul needs. My God is light and love, and He can overcome any hardship I might endure.

The darkness is a scary place to be, and the deeper we go into the fearful thoughts, the more afraid we become. But it’s all an illusion. It’s a scare tactic from the enemy.

We can overcome it through prayer. When we ask God to deliver us from our fearful thoughts and return our hearts and minds to His love and light, He will.

James 4:7 KJV

7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Sweet friends, we can’t prevent the attacks. But we can overcome them through the Lord. We can resist the devil and run to Jesus. We can focus on the love. God is love.
