The Power of One

How often do we feel insignificant? How often do we believe the lie that we can’t make a difference in this world?

It’s so easy to believe that our lives don’t really matter. That is an attack from our adversary. He wants us to think that we don’t matter and that our lives don’t matter. But he is a liar. We all matter greatly to our Lord.

Through the power of ONE, Jesus cultivated enough salvation to save the whole world. On the cross, Jesus showed us the power of ONE when He died for the sins of the entire world.

I believe that God created us all with a divine purpose. We all matter to Him. We all have a precious gift to share with the world. Sometimes we think that to help someone else, we need to do something great, but all we need to do is show love and kindness. Given from the heart, those two things can change the course of someone’s day.

If we look beyond the faults and failures of others and see them as a child of God, instead of their sins, then we have an opportunity to help them.

So many are hurting. Those who are hurting may feel broken and hopeless. We need to show them that someone cares. When we don’t know where to start, we just need to start with prayer.

One of the greatest gifts that we can give someone else is to pray for them. Even when they direct their anger at us. The ones who treat us the worst in life need our love and kindness the most.

If we continuously take them to the Lord in prayer, then God will help them. God knows what each person needs. To think someone is hopeless is to limit God’s power. No one is hopeless. So today, let’s open our eyes and look around for someone to pray for and help. When we reach out to help someone else, it will also help us. That is the gift of God.

Galatians 6:9-10 (KJV)

9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

I still remember the beautiful ways that others have extended kindness and compassion to me when I needed it the most. Those moments of kindness are forever etched in my mind. They are memories I cherish and hold close to my heart.

Every day, I ask God to allow me to help at least one person. It’s a beautiful process. And it keeps me writing, creating, and striving to help someone else.

If you enjoyed this, please share it with someone else.
