Taking Every Anxious Thought to Jesus

Anxiety shows up in my life when I am ignoring the nudges from my Lord. When I start living according to my flesh, my soul suffers. The suffering of my soul translates into worry, overwhelm, exhaustion, fear, anxiety, etc.
However, when I am obedient to the spirit and walk after it, my soul is peaceful, loving, and joyful. And my heart continuously praises my Lord for it all. My food tastes better, my days improve, and every part of my life feels better. In this state, God has elevated every aspect of my life.
Psalm 34:14 KJV
14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
The only way I can depart from evil is to take it all to my Lord. Every sin, fault, and failure, and put them at the feet of Jesus. Then, when I know I need to do better, I need to heed the nudges of my heart.
When my actions and thoughts don’t align with my heart’s desires, I must pause and seek the Lord. I must seek forgiveness if I do something that makes me feel bad. For me, anxiety is a warning sign that something is wrong in my life. When I can sit with it and question it, I can discover its reason without trying to get rid of it.
I wish I had done this years ago. I have caused myself so much heartache by ignoring what is happening inside me. Now, I am learning how to sit with it all and process what I am experiencing.
While I don’t have all the answers, my God knows everything. The more time I spend with Him, the more He reveals to me.
