Love Overcomes: Fighting the Enemy with Compassion and Prayer

Do you love others like God loves you?
Sometimes God amazes me with His love. It astounds me how He can take a hard situation and use love to mend the broken pieces.
The enemy wants us to pick at the heartaches and keep them festering. He points out all of our faults and failures, magnifying them. If he can get us to be angry with others, then we can’t pray for them. As long as I focus on someone else’s faults, I can’t see their goodness.
Satan tries to get us to focus on the sins of a person. God wants us to focus on love. When we choose to love someone, right where they are in their lives, then we can help them to return to God’s love. People won’t listen to us as long as we are on our pedestal, speaking down to them. They can hear us so much better when we are humble and sit with them through their hardships.
I can’t pray for someone else as long as I am looking down on them. My prayers are the strongest with a bent knee and a humble heart. When I have my face in the trench, filling it with tears, I can reach the Lord. Not only does my Lord hear the words, but He understands the groanings of my heart.
Love is such a powerful weapon in this war. Satan can’t do anything with us when we turn our hardships into prayers. Because then our powerful God fights our battles for us. And He is always victorious against the devil.
As the enemy magnifies the sins of someone else, turn it around, and love them instead. Lord, help me to love others as beautifully as you love me.
