Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Sometimes, the scriptures speak to me on another level and show me exactly what to do. As I read these verses this morning, I felt such relief. I don’t have to know how to do things. I don’t need a master plan or things outside of me. All I need to fulfill my purpose and become who God called me to be is the Lord.
God knows the way. He has all the wisdom, knowledge, and power to make it happen. And if I trust in Him, acknowledge Him, and follow Him, He will lead me to where I need to go.
If there is one thing I could tell my younger self, it would be to trust the Lord because you are good enough and worthy to do the work He called you to do.
I’ve spent so much time thinking I had to figure it out, yet I didn’t believe I could or was even worthy of it. For years, I have taken one step forward and many backward. My heart wanted to follow the Lord, but my brain argued against it all. We can’t always follow the Lord and understand what He is doing simultaneously.
It takes prayer and trust. God doesn’t expect me to figure it out, and He doesn’t expect us to do things on our own. He wants us to bring it all to Him and allow Him to be our God.
I can’t even imagine how wonderful my life would be if I lived the scriptures instead of just reading them. If I truly trusted the Lord with all my heart and didn’t lean into my own understanding, I wouldn’t worry or be afraid of what might happen because I would believe it was all God’s will. And I know His will is perfect.
God knows what is best for me. He knows how to help me live my best life. Therefore, I want to surrender my will for His, my thoughts for His, and my control for His. I want to get out of the way so God can bless me according to His will.
