Held by God in the Fire

Are you discouraged because of the tribulations in your life?

Most days, I feel as if a battle is raging inside of me. I try to do good, and almost immediately, resistance shows up. The enemy does not leave me alone; he fights me continually. Because of that, I need help from my Lord. I can’t resist or defeat the enemy on my own.

But when I cry out to Jesus, I am helped.

God may not remove my hardship, but He will hold my hand as we walk through the fire. He will not allow the enemy to consume me. Even in the middle of the battle, there is a wall of protection around me.

I am God’s child.

Sometimes I need to pause and truly remember what that means. I have favor with my Lord. I am helped and loved in ways I can’t fully explain. The enemy cannot extinguish the light inside of me because it is of God.

God shines from within.

We don’t need to search for validation or strength outside of Him. Sometimes the greatest thing we can do is sit with the Lord in the middle of the storm and let Him remind us who we belong to.

When the storms of life rage, I need to remember who controls the storm. Too often, I try to handle everything on my own. I create much of my misery by trying to weather the storm without God. But when I follow the Lord, He shields me, protects me, and shows me how to overcome it all.

John 16:33 KJV
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
