God’s Love in Everyday Moments

The gift of helping someone else in need is priceless. And yet we pause when the opportunities arise. Every day, we are given numerous opportunities to help someone else. The majority of the time, however, we are so focused on ourselves that we miss those precious moments.

I used to think that if I wanted to make a real difference in the world, then I needed to do big things. Now I know that I need to do what is in front of me, and what God puts on my heart to do. When we see something that needs to be done, we should be willing to do it, especially if it is within our power to do so.

Small acts of love add up over time. When we smile at strangers, open doors for others, pick up the trash we see, pray for others, and offer kind words, we are giving others a glimpse of the love of God within us. If we blend in with the world, then we are not allowing our light to shine.

I want others to see God in me. I want to set a good example for my children. But most of all, I want to lead others to the Lord. Love and kindness make a difference. They are precious gifts, and I want to give them to someone else as often as possible.

When we all work together, then our lights unite and shine even brighter. Then, we get to see God move and do His amazing work in our homes and our community.
