I can find a scripture to fit my every need. If I’m upset with someone or don’t like their ways, then I can find a scripture to condemn them. Until I remember that we are no longer under the law, but now, thank God, we are under the plan of salvation through grace. The blood of Jesus covered every sin—past, present, and future.
Our world is changing. The Bible tells us these things will happen. Therefore, we have a choice on how we want to handle things. We can magnify other people’s sins, or we can shine a light on the One who can take care of their sins.
Hatred, anger, bitterness, and strife will not reveal to anyone the glory of our God. If we want to reach people who are different from us, then we need to live a good life in front of them and show them God’s love every chance that we get. Bashing someone else’s beliefs doesn’t make them want to accept our beliefs. It only pushes them away. If we genuinely want to reach others, then we need to love them.
The Bible tells us that love can cover a multitude of sins. No one is perfect. We all sin, fail, and come short every day of our lives. If we could have lived a perfect life, then Jesus would not have had to die for our sins.
Satan loves to distract us from what is important. He uses the news to distract us. If we become outraged, then we will want to fight for our Lord. But God doesn’t need us to fight for Him. The battle is His, and He is more than capable of fighting His own battles. Fighting about something does not ensure peace.
If we want peace, then we just need to love everyone right where they are in their lives and pray for them. Prayer changes things. A humble prayer can bring about miracles.
