From Fear to Faith: Rewriting the Narrative

How do you want to feel?

With every thought, we choose how we want to feel. It took me a long time, and to be honest, I still struggle with it, to realize that I am in charge of my thoughts. Regardless of what the enemy tells me, I get to decide whether or not to believe him. I am the one who either dismisses the notion or nurtures it.

If I am feeling worried, depressed, or stressed, it comes from my thoughts. When I identify the opinion, then I can work on it. I do this in my journal. It is so powerful to dissect a theory and examine it. Once it is out of the dark corners of my mind, I can determine its truth in the light. I can see how it aligns with scripture when it’s on paper. Then, instead of worrying about the troubling thought, I can overcome it with scripture.

When I was so sick, my troubling thought was this: I will never get better. With every new ache or pain, my anxiety about my health increased. Then, one day, I took this thought captive and brought it to my Lord. I asked Him to give me the correct perspective on my health. God gave me this verse to increase my faith and help me heal.

Philippians 4:13 (KJV)
13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

This Bible verse dispelled all the negative comments about my health over the years. When my doctors told me I would never get better, their theory about my health did not align with God’s word. Therefore, I had to abandon the old thoughts to welcome the new ones. This verse became my mantra. I repeated it to myself while I worked out. I repeated it to myself when I had to change my diet. I repeated it over and over while my swollen body ached. And it worked. I changed my thought pattern about my health, did the necessary things to heal my body, and believed that God could heal me wholeheartedly.

If you have a thought causing you pain, I encourage you to work on it. If you need help, please message me. I will do my best to help you find the truth.

If you enjoyed this, please share it with your family and friends.
