Faith at the Edge of Impossible

I understand a little bit of what the children of Israel must have felt when they looked at the Red Sea and knew their enemy was right behind them.
I read about their doubt and fear. I have experienced that same doubt and fear firsthand.
Have you ever stood in a place where the situation felt just as impossible?
How many times have our situations looked impossible in the details of it all? When we break it all down, the facts can seem disheartening. If they had looked at a map first, they couldn’t have found the way—because it hadn’t been made yet.
Exodus 14:13 KJV
13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
It looked impossible.
And yet, God had already decided the outcome.
And then…
God showed up for them and made a way. He took them that way because He knew the plan. God wasn’t scared. He knew the battle was His, and He already had the victory.
It takes God to make the way. And to make the impossible possible.
If we could do it, we wouldn’t need God.
The real miracles happen when we reach the edge of our ability and strength and know in the depths of our souls that it will take God to make it happen.
We can’t make it happen, but we can trust God to do so.
We can’t make the way, but we can walk obediently through the way provided.
We can’t create miracles, but we know the One who can.
Perhaps God could have taken them a different way. But it wouldn’t have given Him the same honor and glory. He showed both sides that He was God—all-powerful and in control.
Sweet friends, sometimes God takes us the long way, the hard way, the faith way—to show others that He is our God. And to show us that we couldn’t do it on our own. So when He pours out our blessings, we will know the One who blessed us.
God still makes ways where there are none.
