The enemy always suggests that you wait a little longer. If he can get you to delay the action, it will delay the blessings. Most of the time, he doesn’t tell us not to do something; he tells us to wait until another time.
How many times have you thought I would do that tomorrow? However, it will be delayed again when tomorrow comes.
Tomorrow, I will, and you can fill in the blank. We all do it. We delay our actions and allow the enemy to steal our blessings. Today is the day we serve the Lord and change our lives.
Otherwise, we intend to live a good life without ever getting around to it. We think about it, plan for it, and truly mean to do it, but we allow the allure of comfort to derail us.
Then, we live in a cycle of desire and guilt. We desire the things in our hearts and feel tremendous guilt for not going after them. Even though the enemy suggested the delay, he also tries to make us feel shame for not doing it.
The shame makes us feel discouraged.
The enemy uses discouragement as a powerful weapon. If he can make us feel that it is impossible, then we won’t try. And that’s how he defeats us, with delay and discouragement.
God, however, has the formula to defeat him. When we mix faith with action, it becomes a powerful combination. When we pray for the strength to do it, God will help us. God can even help our unbelief.
We have no valid excuse for staying in pain and wallowing in our misery. It’s like moving in with the enemy and accepting his torture.
Right now, we can all decide to change something and take the first step toward it. The first step is prayer. Talk it over with the Lord, sweet friends, and let Him help you. Let God tell you what to do and how to do it. He wants us to do good and be prosperous.
God can help us all improve our lives. He can make a way, even when there isn’t one. God created us all for a beautiful purpose. As long as we are alive, we still have things to do. Don’t let the enemy steal the enjoyment of your life and the work God wants you to do.
