Doing Whatever It Takes: Faith in Action

Are you willing to do whatever it takes for God to answer your prayer?

While the most obvious answer is yes, it’s not always the one I choose. Sometimes, my prayers say I want one thing, and my actions say something else entirely. I want God to open doors for me, yet I don’t want to leave my comfort zone to walk through them.

If I’m being completely honest, I want God to do all the work and while I reap the rewards. However, the Bible tells me I will reap what I sow.

Galatians 6:7-9 KJV

7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

So, if I want the incredible blessings from God, I must do the work He puts on my heart.

The gap between desiring to do God’s work and actually doing it is where I struggle the most. I don’t always want to do what God wants me to do. I tell Him I can’t do it. But when I show up and put forth an effort, He blesses me to do it.

My effort plus God’s favor equals the blessing.

He doesn’t expect me to know how to do it all; God wants me to show up with a willing and obedient heart to make a real, honest effort for Him.

In these seasons, God isn’t withholding the answer. He’s preparing me for it. Sometimes, I stand in my own way.

My disobedience stands in the way.

My lack of faith stands in the way.

My unwillingness to see things differently stands in the way.

My need to control the outcome stands in the way.

But when I believe God can answer my prayers and do whatever He tells me to do, regardless of how I feel, that is doing whatever it takes. Sometimes, we must take a leap of faith and trust God to help us.

The blessing is waiting on your obedience.
