Are You Ready to Let It Go?

Are you willing to lay everything down at Jesus’ feet?

The heartaches that broke you and left deep scars.
The grudges that prick you with pain and weigh your spirit down.
The resentments that quietly close you off from the people you love.
The judgments that make you feel small… or superior.

Is there any reason to carry them for one more moment?

So often, we wear them like badges of honor. We justify them. We rehearse them. But in reality, they are knives, and every time we revisit the wound, we stab ourselves again.

Yes, others may have hurt us.
But we harm ourselves when we choose to nurture the pain.

I’ve had to admit something hard: I have hurt myself more than anyone else ever has.

I’ve sabotaged my peace by choosing what feels powerful in the moment instead of what brings lasting freedom. Sometimes anger feels good. Especially self-righteous anger. It makes us feel justified. Strong. Right.

But when I hold grudges and judge others for their sins, I forget something:

I need grace too.

When I bring my pain, my pride, and even my wrongdoing to Jesus, and I ask Him to help me process it — He does. He gently shifts my perspective. He softens my heart. He reminds me that every person I struggle to forgive is someone He loves deeply.

And when I choose grace instead of resentment, something unexpected happens.

I heal.

That’s what God does for me. He gives me grace for every failure, every weakness, every wrong choice.

So who am I to withhold it from someone else?

We are all doing our best in a fallen world.
We are all carrying wounds.
We all need mercy.

Romans 6:14 (KJV)

14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Grace breaks chains.
Grace releases the weight.
Grace frees us from carrying what Jesus already died to carry.

Sweet friend, what would your life feel like if you truly laid it all down?
