Abundance Begins with Surrender

Sometimes, we live as if the storehouse of God’s blessings is empty. We limit the Lord with our thoughts and actions. We want a God we can see with clear paths and constant reassurance. Even though the Bible tells us to walk by faith and not sight, we struggle to live this way.
Can you imagine how extraordinary our lives could be if we walked by faith?
By faith, we would believe in God’s complete sovereignty. We wouldn’t put Him in a box but in the highest part of all creation and authority.
So often, I don’t write because I allow the enemy to convince me that I have nothing left to say. He tells me I’ve already said it all. But when I clear my mind of myself, I can hear the beautiful words only God can formulate. God is abundant. His blessings and provisions never run out.
My problem usually stems from my desire to do it all. I want to control the pen, but when I hold the pen, the words are limited—crafted from my limited wisdom and knowledge. They don’t have the spirit and truth that they need to reach others and help them.
To truly hear the voice of the Lord, we need to listen for it and feel for Him. When we connect with God, He gives us everything we need to do His work. God knows the formulas to make things happen. Following Him in faith demands that we let go of the need to see the whole plan.
If I could see the plan, I would probably mess it up or become so overwhelmed by it all that I stumbled over it. Thankfully, God only gives me a little of it at a time. But the key is to treat each thing as something significant because it is.
Whatever God tells us to do is important. It is all part of the plan. However, our unwillingness to follow the Lord can cause us lots of stress and delayed blessings.
The good news is that we get to choose what we want to do. Our decisions are one thing we are in control of.
Today and every day, I want to choose to follow the Lord. He knows where we are going and how to get there.
