A Compassionate Heart

One of the greatest ways that we can show love is with compassion. When we put aside our thoughts and feelings and truly desire to help someone else, then God will give us the desires of our heart. It was His compassion and love for us that held Jesus on the cross. He knew that we needed a savior. If He had just been thinking about Himself, then He could have called to God and ended His suffering. Instead He endured the shame, pain, and sins of the whole world because of His love and desire to help us.

It’s not always easy to love other people. When we open our heart to love, then we also open it to the possibility of heartache. But what would be the meaning of life without love?

Instead of closing our heart and building walls when someone hurts us, we just need to forgive them and offer compassion. They are not well. Their heartache is so deep that it is pouring out and inflicting others. The ones who treat us the worst need our love, kindness, and compassion the most. We need to pray for them. When we can use our tears to ask God to help them, then we can defeat the enemy.

It’s hard to stand still and see our loved ones hurting. So often the enemy paints us a picture of hopelessness. He wants us to believe that our efforts are useless. We just need to remember that God sees every heartache, He understands every tear, and He knows the desires of our hearts. We just need to keep praying. He has the answers that we need and grace for every need.

Love and blessings,

Candida
