The Power of Prayer: Finding Strength in God’s Guidance

The Lord is my Shepherd. He leads me, guides me, and helps me along the way. Knowing I don’t have to figure it all out for myself is a relief. God has a plan for each of us. He knows everything that will happen to us and how to guide us in each situation.

When I feel overwhelmed and defeated, I need to find a few minutes to pray. It is such a blessing to know that the God of the whole world hears my prayers. He understands the tears I don’t understand and interprets my heart’s groaning. Whenever I go to him with a broken heart, He comforts me.

Psalm 120:1 (KJV)
120 In my distress I cried unto the Lord, and he heard me.

While things may catch me unaware, nothing slips by God. Even when certain situations feel out of control, God is still in control. He has all the power. It pleases Him to help us. He wants us to come to Him for our help and trust Him to help us.

Sometimes, the world sees this as a weakness, especially when the enemy invites us to a fight, but we decline to participate. Instead of fighting this battle on my own, I want the Lord to fight it for me. On my own, I will only make matters worse. God, however, will be victorious. Therefore, I know my greatest weapon against the enemy is prayer. I believe the enemy doesn’t stand a chance when God’s children begin to pray.

Prayer changes things.
